Nardwuar vs. Gwar
A hilarious interview with one of the strangest bands I have never come to fully understand. I have no idea why I haven’t posted any videos of Nardwuar yet. As someone who aspires to be a music journalist or write about music in some way, he’s somehow who I really look up to. I know you’re thinking, “That goofy looking Canadian clown with the pom pom hat? Boy do you have low standards.” Well Narwuar is one of the greatest interviewers I’ve ever seen. Not only does he do extensive research on each artist that occasionally borders on creepy, he also gives each person he interviews several gifts relating to pretty obscure or early moments of their career.
And he’s not just interviewing bands like Gwar. And it’s not just punk. This guy has interviewed, Lady Gaga, Weird Al, Snoop Dogg,Henry Rollins, Jello Biafra (multiple times), Fat Mike, Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, Rancid, Vanilla Ice…the list goes on. And every interview is so well done and usually really funny. He even has a really eerie interview from back in the day with Kurt Cobain. Even if you hate the majority of the people I mentioned, the videos are still worth watching. Nardwuar always catches people off guard and brings out some weird/unexpected qualities in some people.
